Mother’s day is May 12th in the US. Sorry UK mamas. I missed Mother’s day in that UK on March 31st. We love the cute little cards and the little handmade gifts.
This year give that special woman in your life a gift that she will actually want and love. Not sure what to get her?
I’ve got you covered. Check out this list of 19 gift moms actually want.

A gift card
But not just any gift card. Get her a gift card where she can only buy something for herself. I will be honest with you.
I have had a problem with using gift cards to buy things for my kids. My mom is a smart lady and caught on to this. She usually sends me gift cards for my birthday.
A few years ago she started changing things up. Instead of giving me a gift card to somewhere like Target or TJ Maxx, she started giving me gift cards that I could only use on myself.
So if you’re looking for a gift that your special lady will love, you definitely want to go with something that only she can use for herself.
Try getting gift cards to Sephora or Ulta. For crafty mamas, you could even get a gift card for Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Another favorite is Starbucks.
Flowers
You usually can’t go wrong with some beautiful flowers. Especially if your mom is out of town, try utilizing 1-800-Flowers or FTD.
I have orders flowers from both companies and have been pleased with the selection and timeliness that the flowers reach the recipient.
If you can, try not to wait to close to the date that you want the flowers delivered. I have ordered and had flowers delivered on the same day, but you may not want to try this on Mother’s Day.
A really cool card
Yes, moms love the thoughtfulness that goes into making DIY cards. But, this year why not get her a really cool card?
Get her a cool card that will make her laugh or put a smile on her face. You know. The really genuinely happy smile that you love to see.
I found this card on Esty. And another cute one here.
Also, check Paper Source. I found this card and thought it was cute.
Then there is Paperless Post. Take a look at this card.
Cleaning service
Now, moms work hard and need a break sometimes.
If you could find a way to hire a cleaning service or maid service to come in and clean the house, even if it’s just part of the house, that would be AMAZING.
Having someone to come and clean the house so she doesn’t have to will allow that special lady to relax and have one less thing to worry about.
Amazon Prime
I love having Amazon prime. I honestly feel like any mom that doesn’t have it, should definitely get it.
This would be a great gift if your mom doesn’t already have Amazon Prime.
Some of the benefits of Amazon include:
- Prime delivery – Which means delivery is free on select items and usually comes within 2 days.
- Special savings and discounts for Prime members. Plus early access to lightning deals. This comes in handy during Black Friday.
- Access to Prime Music where there millions of songs and custom playlist
- Access to Prime Video where there are videos and Prime originals
- Same day delivery on select items
A really fancy vacuum
Before you think I’m crazy. Hear me out. Instead of just getting an ordinary vacuum cleaner to get a fancy vacuum cleaner that is able to do things vacuum and wash the floors. Wouldn’t that make mom’s cleaning routine more efficient?
On vacuum cleaner that I am thinking about in particular is the BISSELL CrossWave Floor and Carpet Cleaner with Wet-Dry Vacuum.
A new favorite among many moms is the robot vacuum. Like the iRobot Roomba 690 Robot Vacuum. This vacuum has Wi-Fi Connectivity, Works with Alexa, Good for Pet Hair, Carpets, Hard Floors.
You can set a cleaning schedule via the iRobot home app and know that the food that accidentally gets on the floor every night will be taken care of. How amazing is that?
Leave her alone
Yup. That’s right. Just leave her alone.
Take the kids away for a while and leave her alone to do whatever her heart desires.
For the Movie and TV lover: A subscription to Hulu or Netflix
Especially if your mom is a movie lover or has a TV series that she likes to keep up with.
Getting a subscription to Hulu or Netflix would definitely be awesome.
A subscription box for self-care
Now there are several different subscription boxes out there, but there are two that I actually like.
The first one is Reclaim Yourself. This inscription box has different monthly themes of self-development that it will take you through.
It includes books as well as self-care products. And then there’s an online community with resources that you can find in there each month.
Then the second one is Mind Wander. This one was developed by a psychologist.
This box includes many workbooks that are filled with strategies for helping with decreasing anxiety and stress as well as increasing your confidence and positivity.
For the coffee lover: A subscription for coffee
No offense to the moms that love their k cups. But the moms that like the coffee grounds or straight up coffee beans that they actually have to grind it themselves, this subscription is going to be a perfect gift.
Atlas Coffee Club is the most popular coffee subscription out there. Each month they will send you a new coffee that is from somewhere around the world. There are also flavor notes included. As well as a brewing guide.
And then the really cute thing that I like about it is it includes a postcard from the country of origin that the coffee’s coming from. So they have coffee coming from all over the world.
