If you’re like me, you probably had your baby and your body didn’t go back to the way it was before the baby bump. After time passes you may have even accepted or become complacent with your new body. Or worst let yourself go and gained more weight and struggle to figure out how to get fit.
The truth is, it doesn’t have to be this way. My guest, Michelle Marie, helps us tackle the mindset that is holding us back from achieving our fitness goals.
First, you have to have a conversation with yourself and admit that you don’t feel good about yourself.
Don’t feel bad. There have been many times I get dressed in front of the mirror and try to hide from myself because I don’t like the extra weight that I am carrying.
But remember to have grace with yourself. Especially when you are learning how to get fit.
Next, start meal planning for the week so that you are less likely to make unhealthy choices that will only perpetuate the cycle of weight gain.
The best way to do this is to make it a habit by meal planning on a day you choose every week.
Marie does her meal planning every Saturday for the entire week. No matter what. What day will you choose to meal plan?
After that, you have to get organized and schedule a time to do the things to help you meet your goals.
Whether it is following a video series on Beach Body or going to the gym to meet with a trainer, put it on the schedule.
It will be hard in the beginning, but it will eventually get easier once it becomes what you do.
You have to adopt this mentality and put yourself first.
Marie also touched on nutrition and how it is important when you are trying to reach your fitness goals. It is 80% of what will help you get to your goals.
